Greater possibilities in industrial environments with the new inlet pressure control

The water pressure in hydrant networks is a critical influencing factor for the operation of the extinguishing system. The new inlet pressure regulation from Rosenbauer makes it possible to adjust pressure to the respective requirements. This not only protects the pump, valves and fittings from pressure surges and possible damage, but also provides the new possibility of using around-the-pump foam proportioning systems in feedingoperation.

The inlet pressure regulation functions pneumatically and mechanically, whereby the setpoint can be set either purely mechanically or via electronics integrated into the pump control. The desired pressure can therefore be rapidly achieved.

More cost-effective around-the-pump foam systems can also be used in the industrial area

Due to the possibility to reduce the pressure to <0.5 bar, the around-the-pump foam proportioning systems such as FIXMIX 2.0 can also be used. This offers the advantage of enabling a more cost-effective foam proportioning to be achieved across the entire working range of the pump. Rosenbauer can therefore offer an attractive solution, particularly for industrial firefighting vehicles and aerial platforms without water tanks.

Additional functions

In addition, the inlet pressure regulation system can also take over the shut-off function, meaning that an additional shut-off valve is no longer necessary.

External suction is still possible thanks to the suitable dimensioning, with reduced suction performance.

The inlet pressure regulation is permanently installed on the suction side of the pump. There are three different sizes (DN150, DN80, DN65), with the desired standard pressure being preset according to customer requirements. When the around-the-pump foam system is activated, the system automatically reduces the inlet pressure to below 0.5 bar.

Also suitable for discharges

The pressure regulation module can also be used for discharges: for example, the water pressure is reduced at standard discharges (e.g. for a nozzle)while a turret can be supplied with the higher pump pressure to reach a greater throw range

With the new inlet pressure regulation system, Rosenbauer has developed a technically efficient solution with many advantages: it can be easily integrated into the pump system and – as usual with Rosenbauer products – it can be intuitively and easily controlled and operated via the LCS system.
